Those who put on their walking boots and head to the Keswick Mountain Festival in May will get the chance to climb Skiddaw with an acclaimed outdoor writer.Cameron McNeish will be a guest guide for the event and set out from Latrigg taking in Jenkin Hill, the summit and Sale How, before returning via the Glenderaterra Beck valley.
He said: "I’m delighted to be taking part in the Keswick Mountain Festival, leading a walk which is going to offer stunning views of some of the Lake District’s most iconic mountains."
Mr McNeish is the presenter of a number of television programmes, writer and president of the Backpackers Club, patron of Mountain Aid and the recipient of an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal Scottish Geographical Society.
His walk on Saturday May 19th is expected to be interesting and informative as he draws on his wide range of experience to present anecdotes to those attending the event.
