Commitments mean Prince Harry won't climb Everest

03/02/2012 09:14
Prince Harry has had to pull out of the Everest expedition.Prince Harry will not join the wounded servicemen he accompanied to the South Pole on their expedition to Everest, it has been announced.

He had expressed a desire to take part in the Walking With The Wounded expedition, but this year is a particularly busy one for the Royal Family, reports the Telegraph.

As well as the celebrations associated with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics, the prince is known for putting his army engagements first.

A spokesman for the prince told the news provider: "He won’t be going to the Himalayas because of his military commitments. Naturally he is very disappointed that he won’t be able to join the Walking With The Wounded team."

He is said to be disappointed not to be able to undertake the trip with the men he bonded with previously and plans had started to be put in place for him to join them.

Funds raised by Walking With The Wounded are used to help injured service men and women to retrain in another profession as leaving the armed forces can lead to difficulties with adjustment.ADNFCR-2054-ID-801282989-ADNFCR
