Thousands of people across the UK have had their attempts to get to work thwarted today (February 2nd) as the UK is hit by what the Met Office is calling the most widespread snowfall the country has seen in 18 years. As much as a foot of the white stuff has fallen in the south-east, while the rest of the country has also seen extensive snow.
Public transport has been cancelled in many areas and all of London's buses were removed from the streets. Hundreds of schools have also been closed.
However, the AA has warned that Britons risk "flirting with hypothermia" if they do not wear the appropriate clothing, or keep it in their cars in case of emergency.
With snow still falling, waterproof trousers could be helpful for people needing to walk any distance - or simply for those going sledging!
A waterproof jacket and gloves are also essential in order to prevent people getting too cold at their core and at the extremities.
