This season is best for skiing for many years

22/02/2012 09:52
After fears at the beginning of the winter that the snow hadn't started to fall, this season has seen some of the best powder in recent years.

Those grabbing their ski wear and heading for resorts across Europe are in for a treat as fresh snow in Austria and France makes for great skiing and snowboarding conditions.

With 50 centimetres of snow having fallen, the Ski Club of Great Britain leader in Klosters in Switzerland said the powder was some of the best of his career.

Despite the great snowfall in Europe some of the best places this year have been Alyeska in Alaska and Colorado in America, where they are expected a fresh flurry.

Meanwhile Niseko in Japan has also had good powder this season.

Marcus Williams, general manager of SkiJapan.com, said: "The season has been incredible. Niseko still gets falls of dry powder throughout March, so there is more snow to come."ADNFCR-2054-ID-801299038-ADNFCR
