Excessive speed on the slopes in leading to accidents and nine out of ten British skiers would like to see tougher measures put in place, new research has found.The study, which was carried out by More Than, came to the conclusion that skiers would like to see the alcohol culture in ski areas change with breathalysers brought in.
It is thought that drinking too much is one of the reasons why some skiers go too fast and that rules applied to drivers should be put in place on the slopes.
Speed limits should be implemented and anyone breaking them should be given points, which could ultimately lead to being banned, respondents to the survey said.
Skiers who speed not only put their own lives in danger, but those of others and intimidate others users on the piste.
Meanwhile this year's relatively mild winter has led to fear that there may not be enough snow in some key ski destinations.
