Outdoor enthusiasts will have their walking sandals at the ready as the Heart of the Forest open top bus tour kicks off for the summer months.

Passengers are invited to climb aboard the big red bus, which sets off from Leicester city centre before making its way through nearby market town Ashby de la Zouch and then on to the National Forest.

Once there, nature fans will receive a tour of the woodlands and attractions, with expert guides on hand to fascinate them with local myths and historical pearls of wisdom.

The hop-on, hop-off tours will begin on July 24th and run every Friday for the six weeks of summer, providing plenty to keep the whole family entertained.

Among the attractions on offer in the National Forest is the covered Conkers Waterside amphitheatre, which is home to musical productions, craft sessions and circus workshops.

Those visiting the centre can enjoy hours of family fun based on life in a British woodland, with more than one hundred indoor and outdoor activities to play a part in.
