The arts and walking will come together in July for Scotland's largest combined festival.Cowalfest Summer Walks Weekend will run across July 25th and 26th and people will be able to don their walking boots for guided trails from the Forestry Commission.
Walks will include a ramble through a fairy glen, heritage and theatre from the Walking Theatre Company, panoramic views on a hill walk, scrambling, walks through botanic gardens and tours of a great house.
"We're proud of this breathtaking environment and in 2009, whether you are celebrating your Scottish roots, are a frequent visitor, or have never visited before, Cowalfest will welcome you home," said the event's official organisers.
The festival will combine walking with the history and cultural heritage of the peninsula and participants can take part in not only guided walks, but mountain biking, theatre and food events as well as horse riding.
Cowal is located in the Argyll Peninsula and is also home to the world's largest highland games.
Men looking for a new pair of walking boots may wish to check out the Regatta Fast Track Mid X-LT boots.
