People looking to get their lightweight waterproofs on and head out into the countryside may wish to follow a walk alongside Stonehenge, recommends a newspaper. Covering a distance of seven miles, the trail is a "walk stepped in history" beginning in the town of Amesbury, wrote the Guardian in its Go Walk travel guide.
Taking around three hours and 30 minutes, walkers will pass through grassy mounds that are ancient burial chambers and the King Barrows on Stonehenge Avenue.
Mid-way through the walk, "you'll be in the centre of the Cursus, a massive earthwork three kilometres long and 100 metres wide", said the paper.
Near the end, the trail will pass a further burial site, dating from approximately 2600 BC to 1600 BC around a kilometre from Stonehenge.
The writers recommend stopping for a post-walk drink and doorstop sandwich at the Antrobus Arms hotel.
Amesbury is located in Wiltshire around nine miles north of Salisbury. It was once the refuge of Arthur's queen Guinevere.
Those wishing to head out on a walk may wish to look at the Dare 2B Blockade softshell jacket.
