People of Northumberland are invited to lace up their walking shoes and join other outdoor enthusiasts for the first ever Rothbury and Coquetdale midsummer Walking Festival. The event will run from June 13th to 20th and will take place in the Northumberland National Park.
"I hope you can come along to this walking festival in what I personally think is taking place in the best walking scenery that Northumberland has to offer," said Jon Monks of Shepherds Walks.
Some 15 different walks will take place over the eight-day event and all money raised will go to the Northumberland National Park Good Nature Fund.
Walks will take place throughout different times of the day and range from three to 12 miles long.
Different themes include a wildflower walk and trails in search of the mountain bumble bee, barn owls and birds of Coquetdale.
According to Visit Rothbury, the area is best known as Walking Country and is also perfect for rock climbing, cycling and other activities.
People joining the inaugural year of the walking festival may wish to look at the Hi-Tec V-Lite Radar II Event men's walking shoes.
