'Superb' walking on Welsh coastline

19/06/2009 16:48
The Welsh coastline has been described as "superb" for walking by a journalist.

Fred Mawer of the Telegraph wrote that the "far western reaches of southern Wales" boast plenty of natural coastline that is perfect to explore on foot.

He said Marloes Sands, which is a half-mile walk from Stackpole Quay, is "an awesome, long, wave-battered strand" and suggested trekkers may wish to take in its striking orange-coloured cliffs.

Coastal bus services run regular routes in the area, he explained, adding that these are ideal for those who wish to strap on their walking sandals to take a long linear walk out, then return to their departure point on wheels.

Budget-conscious Brits will be pleased to read that as Pembrokeshire has fewer visitors than the West Country, prices in the region are sometimes lower than they are elsewhere, he added.

Women planning to enjoy a coastal walk may wish to try out the Regatta Seabreeze women's walking sandals.
