International Alpaca Association

Peruvian Knitwear is a member of the IAA, International Alpaca Association – a non-profit Peruvian based organisation which actively promotes the alpaca fibre. The garments sold carry the IAA license, a hologramed tag which is an internationally recognisable symbol which certifies the quality of the fibre. The alpaca yarn is stronger than mohair, finer than cashmere, smoother than silk, warmer than goose down, and breathes better than thermal knits. Alpaca is naturally hypoallergenic (as it doesn’t contain lanolin), beautifully soft and of course super warm, giving you garments that are extremely lightweight, velvety smooth with a wonderful lustre.
