Buying Advice - Do you know your size?

The very best piece of advice Trekwear can give you is to find a soft tape measure and measure yourself before you order your goods because there is no industry standard with regard to clothing sizes!

We have found that some people are comfortable in a ski jacket a size larger than their normal outer layer, and we ask that you consider whether you are normally a 'small size whatever' or a 'generous size whatever'. We also ask that you consider what you will be wearing underneath your jacket, as a base layer and a mid layer will add to your measurements.

Salopettes are not currently sold in varying leg lengths; in fact there seems to be no vast difference between each size, or between the various designs. The inside leg measurements for most of the men's are around 30 – 33”, the women's around 29 - 31". I have only received a handful to exchange due to leg length being inappropriate. My inside leg measurment is 33" yet I can wear a garment measuring only 30" - it is strange, but true and apparently due to the way salopettes are cut and the fact that you wear them with boots!

If you feel they are a little short or a little too long consider that you will be skiing in boots and not bare foot! The ski pant and boot together seem to absorb what would be an unacceptable length with a trouser and shoe.

Ladies, please observe that the smaller size ski pants seem to have a minimum waist measurement; if you are usually a 10 you may find a 12 to be more suitable and a 14 may find a 16 to be appropriate.

We give this information as a guide only, and as such cannot be held liable for any resulting error in size selection. This does not affect your right to return an item for an exchange or refund if the item proves to be unsuitable.

We recognise the opportunity to include more information on the size chart and hope to have this available soon. If you want to know the specific size of a garment please send an email and I will pass your message onto our supplier if I am unable to help you myself.
